There are often a number of cruises related to deep sea fishing and viewing majestic sea creatures available on the East and West Coast. In one case, Two Harbors tours on the West coast offers a trip in which those aboard can explore Whale Watching Catalina Island. For, while the trip is focused on whale watching, there is also a two hour layover on the island.
In either case, the Atlantic and Pacific offer a plethora of opportunities for deep sea fishing and viewing majestic sea creatures. When it comes to Two Harbor cruises on the West coast, those aboard one of the cruise ships often view not only whales but other sea creatures and wildlife. In addition, unlike other cruises of this nature, Two Harbors allows those aboard to spend a few hours perusing Catalina Island as part of the excursion.
As with most layovers, the captain will provide a pick-up time for a return to Newport. It is important that guests arrive back at the dock early or on-time as the vessel will not wait for late comers. If and when missing a return trip, there is a Catalina Flyer which can be called for a return to Newport.
On the return trip, the cruise continues along the coast, allowing ocean enthusiasts to view a variety of whales including Grey whales during migration and occasional sightings of larger whales along with Harbor seals which are often playful and plentiful in the area. In addition, it is not uncommon to spot bald eagles catching fish along the shoreline.
Once the cruise returns to the mainland back at Newport, it can often be a good opportunity to have a nice dinner while watching the evening Sunset. For, the tour arrives back at approximately 6:00 p. M., just in time for a nice walk along the harbor, having dinner at one of the multi-star restaurants and watching the sun set after a beautiful day of sailing and sightseeing.
Pricing for the excursion can often vary depending on discounts and time of year. For, different times of year can be better for whale watching then others. At the same time, it is often rare that individuals take a cruise in which there is not some aspect of sea or wildlife viewing available. Whereas, the snack bar is open on each and every cruise with light snacks and lunches available for a nominal fee.
Different types of seating is available on board at no additional cost. For example, there is a lovely sundeck which seats approximately 30 individuals along with indoor seating on different levels. In most cases, guests prefer to sit on the sundeck or stand close to the railing in order to experience the most optimum aspect for viewing sea and wildlife while on board.
It should noted that Two Harbors can not be responsible if those attending a cruise miss departure from Newport Harbor or pick up at Catalina. As such, anyone requiring a return is responsible for the cost of the return trip. Whereas, it should also be noted that there can often be additional charges such as tax, fees and fuel charges in addition to the cost of tickets.
