Guidelines For Buying A Condensation Sensor

By Ann Reynolds

There is a lot of automation used in many types of equipment used in sensitive environments. One of the modern technology adopted in these apparatuses is the condensation device. It detects the change of air into the water due to a condensation process. Anyone who intends to buy the device should acquaint with a couple of aspects to get the best product in the market. Explained below are a couple of tips for purchasing a condensation sensor to rely on.

Beware about the accuracy guaranteed. Your decision to attain a certain degree of accuracy relies on your application. Sensitive controlled environments such as laboratories, theaters, and hospital wards require an extremely controlled environment. In such a situation, you should look for a device that has a high RH level.

Check whether there are any contaminants or chemical needed. Every sensor has its strength and weakness when exposed to certain chemicals. You should take note of potential chemicals that can affect the sensors at the location where one will install the device. Take your time comparing the device manufacturing chart to determine whether the chemicals present in your workplace can affect the device.

Decide on a sensor to buy. There are two types of devices that you can pick. You can choose the resistive device and the thermal conductivity type. The resistive device measures the electrical change caused by a conductive substance. The thermal conductivity works by calculating the difference between dry air compared with the one that contains water vapor.

Take note of the power that your device will consume. There is a significant impact on power consumption in any equipment. The power rating of a device might seem small but can have a massive effect on your power bills. So, you have to find a tool that can save your energy to cut down your costs. Even so, look for something compatible with your original equipment.

Take note of the calibration used. Every producer has a different calibration procedure. Most of the companies have maintained a calibration of 3 RH as directed by most authorities. This means that the RH starts with thirty percent as the lowest, fifty as the medium and eighty as the highest. However, a lot of digital manufacturers have gone to the extent of creating eight RH to improve the level of accuracy.

Check the signaling used by the device. A functional sensor should show signals when the level of condensation starts. The signaling can be as simple as a beep, an LED light, or an alarm. Choose a signal that you are sure of taking note as soon it starts signaling. Even so, ensure that the device automatically triggers the equipment to react accordingly despite having the signals.

Understand the dealer that you choose. Not all dealers in the market can offer an excellent service. You need someone who can manage to meet your expectations. This means that one should either have the ability to make a custom-made device that matches your expectations. Alternatively, the professional should have a variety of apparatus to choose from and can provide relevant advice needed to meet your expectations.
